Chocolate and “Peanut” Butter Squares

peanut butter choc bar

“Peanut” Butter Ingredients (reminds us of a mixture between fudge and raw cookie dough):

  • 1 cup sunflower seed butter
  • 1/4 cup cashew butter
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup agave (dark gives more flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Layer:

  • 1 1/2 cup cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup melted cacao butter
  • 4-6 tablespoon coconut palm sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil

1) In a saucepan, heat and mix the ingredients for the chocolate layer.

2) Pour the warm mixture into a deeper and smaller pan (we like 9 inch by 5 inch loaf pan).

3) Put the pan into the freezer for about 15 minutes until the chocolate is more firm.

4) In a mixing bowl, mix all the “peanut” butter ingredients.

5) Once you take out the pan, spread the “peanut” butter mixture evenly over the chocolate layer (The mixture is thick, so you may have to flatten it out into a rectangle on a cutting board first. Then, place the flat dough on the chocolate layer).

6) Place the pan back into the freezer or refrigerator.

7) Once ready to serve, take the pan out and let the dessert thaw until you are able to cut the bar into square-like pieces.

8) Enjoy.
